Help with Spindrift Tiller

I just joined the ownership ranks with a 1985 Spindrift Day Sailer 1. The tiller is in bad shape, delaminated with some rot. It seems to be of a unique design too, being tapered to a 7/8" width at the end that then is inserted in the rudder head (between two pieces of aluminum bolted together) then through bolted.

Does anyone know where to get a replacement tiller?

Has anyone gone with an aluminum (or other) tiller as a replacement?

I can't seem to find a sutiable replacement, and the D&R tiller is for a different design entirely. Wondering if I'll just have to buy a stock tiller of approximate length, and then taper to size.

Check with Cape Cod shipbuilding, the current builder. What actually works very well however is using a replacement post hole digger handle. It is made of ash, square at one end that can be cut down. They are fairly inexpensive and very strong. Good luck.
