Yoga and sailing… I wouldn't have thought of that combination. Looks good!

thanks kc your boat is lookin good. i appreciate your posts re your stiffening project, hiking over the coaming etc. i'm pondering what to do with my recently acquired #3464. she's a sweetie with a lot of problems mainly a soft hull. i will be watching with interest to see how you resolve your coaming situation

I was thinking about the stability of these little boats. Okay, they're not the fastest boat on the water but they're really not that bad. It's amazing that we can walk around on the forward deck of these boats, let alone do yoga on them! I was sailing some this summer on a JY 15, which is merely 16 inches shorter. You don't even want to stand up in one of those and it's highly unstable standing in front of the mast.

Yes, the new stiffened hull is nice and feels great, but the boat sailed pretty darn well even with the flexible hull. Some flexibility in these hulls is normal, so I would approach any repair carefully. Mine was an extreme case. It was really soft. If you can stiffen the hull up with stringers, that would be a lot easier.

So, how late in the season can you sail? It looks like you are in a premium location for day sailing!
