Good morning.
The spreaders on my DS1 are just not right. What component do I need to buy to replace the wonky eyebolt and electrical tape?
Many thanks,
Robert in Spokane

DR Marine has original spreaders.

However, all a spreader needs to do is keep the shrouds at a predetermined distance. Preferably while not adding a lot of weight. It turns out that for some models of DS, the factory original spreaders are a bit weak - not along the length, but at the attachment points. I had one break, got a replacement, only to have it break again the same way the very first week. Did a jury-rig repair at the dock that has lasted me for a decade.

My tendency would be to advise, as long as they are the correct length, not to mess with a working spreader.

Aluminum tubing provides a thicker wall than the spreader. Measure to length, cut a slit in the end to accept the spreader wire and drill 2 small holes for your stainless wire wrap. Complete with electrical tape....I personally use red and green tape for STBD and PRT spreaders.
