Proctor Mast Heel Plug Problem

Postby Bob Damon » Thu Jul 28, 2005 2:02 pm

It has come to the attention of several of the DSA officers that Proctor masts for the Day Sailer are being supplied with a new style heel plug that will not fit into the standard mast partner hole. Be advised that our current class rules do not allow modification of the partner hole, ie sawing the hole open so it is bigger to fit the heel plug. If you have questions please contact me. Proctor Mast Heel Plug Problem

Postby clewton » Thu Aug 11, 2005 11:16 pm

Yeah, I have one of those mast heel plugs, a little work with a jig saw and all was fine. Now it matches my out of spec. Cape Cod centerboard. Take a look in September in Annapolis. I can't see how it does anything but hurt me by creating a little more slop around the mast partner.
PS. you were my 1st choice for class measurer, good luck.
