Sail # 591

Postby wrmann » Mon Apr 24, 2006 3:05 pm

I have the lead on a 1960's DS I, sail number 591. I haven't seen the boat yet. The owner claims that the boat won some national championships in the 1960's. Does anyone know if this is true? THe boat was made by O'Day in Costa Mesa, CA. Would this boat be one that had wooden seats rather than the airtanks of the later DS I's? I have a 1970 DS I now but restoring a real early DS I has my attention. The boat even has tapered Proctor mast.

I have #568.
Wood seats, but tanks behind, and one under aft deck. Restoration was definately worth the effort. Do it to it!

I can show you pics of fivesixeight if you e-mail me.
