I've never used one, but as I understand it they will help sail shape in light air. My only real opbjection is that it is another piece of equipment that needs to be added to what can sometimes be an already complicated boat. And sailing gear is never cheap. If folks using them start winning all the time it means buying yet another piece of equipment. What do they cost - $150? I guess I'd say let's not use them but then again I'm not dead set for or against it. I could be pursuaded either way with good rational arguments.
