Traveler set up

For my '92 Sunfish Laser Inc. Daysailer:

I realize after reading through a lot of blogs there are many ways to set up all the hardware/lines/rigging on these daysailers. For simplicity I'm trying to follow the way my dad had it until I've got enough experience to decide I want to make it "better". But I'm missing the douple block and traveler line that used to be attached to the two eye bolts at the stern. I'm pretty sure my dad had it set up that way with the main sheet going from the end of the boom through the other sheave of the doble block.

So I'm wondering what size/length should my traveler line be and what size/type should my double block be?

Can my traveler line be clipped into the eyebolts for easy removal for trailering so it doesn't flop around? What type of clip would work well there?

So after reading about travelers it looks as though there may be some advantage in being able to adjust the height. My DS I wasn't really set up that way. The rigging instructions say:

Secure one end of the traveler line to one of the eye straps located at the stern. Pass the free end through the smaller block of the double block assembly and secure to the other eye strap.

I can't find a double block that doesn't have some sort of shackle attachment on it, nor do I know what size it should be. Still don't know what size the line should be. Anybody using this simple setup?
