Just bought a DS1. Don't even know the year as I haven't seen the boat yet, only pictures. Any suggestions for links or info so I can get acquainted with a DS1? I've been sailing ventures and catalinas in the gulf for a few years but a move to NC has left me with TVA lakes to sail in so I thought the daysailer would be a good choice.

Hi phill, Welcome aboard !! The DS is a great lake boat offering easy trailering, ease of setup, and a lot of performance. This site is probably your best source of info specific to the DS. I also have sailed Catalinas and owned a great Venture Newport for many years that I sailed in both salt and fresh water. My basic advice with the DS is to “hang on”. It is very responsive and likes to have a skipper’s hand on the tiller. Also you need to get used to being the ballast so to speak. Performance can be enhanced by where you and your crew position yourselves in varying wind conditions. Brad
