I am trying to find out about how old my DS1 is.

There are no hull #'s imprinted on the transom. There are no placques or id markings on the hull that I can tell. Coamings did not come with boat. The floor has reinforcing strips in it parrallel to the centerboard. The floorboards seem original. Seats are molded. Bulkhead has 2 openings to the forward locker and floatation below. Mast is tapered. Deck was a sea green color.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Dan

Take a look on the forward starboard bow just under the rub rail, a few inches back from the stem. There may be a serial number stamped into the hull.

I have a 1968 sail #3157 that has the parallel strips glassed into the hull and the other day I looked at a 1961 or 62 sail #102? that did not have the strips glassed in. Hope this is helpful.

Oh, do you have a sail with a number?

sails are not original and have no valid #.

I will look at the hull but did not notice anything before. I will pay close attention.

Am I right that all hulls started having ID #'s imprinted in the transom around 1972?

Thanks
