Rudder template for DS1

My father in-law is in the process of renovating a DS1 that he found in the back of a junk yard. He plans to give it to my son when he is done. The last thing he needs to do is build a new rudder. He is a woodworker and is not intimidated by building it from scratch. However, he cannot find plans or a template. Does anyone have any advice for how he can get hold of the original template for the rudder?

Thanks a ton!

Have you already looked at Drawing 6.3 in http://daysailer.org/pdf/dsbylaw3.pdf ?

This drawing only shows the kick-up blade for the rudder. The rudder head encloses the top of the blade, forming a joint, then narrows towards the top, where it's enclosed by the fork of the tiller.

If you search here, you might find additional information.

OOP's that for the centerboard, Here's the article I meant to send. I don't think there's actual rudder drawings in it but some good info, especially on the rudder head. Still compliments of (and to) Bob Hunkins.
