Next time in light air, try sitting forward of the thwarts. It may take something to act as a "seat extension" (I often have something stashed in that area that can be used to sit on). It won't interfere with the lateral balance, so you still get the effect of sitting to leeward.
In higher winds, when the boat is beginning to plane (7kts) your weight can come aft. We don't often get the right winds for that, but a bit of bow-up trim sounds right (from what I read here in the planing threads).
