Only reason I ask is that there have been instances of stemhead failure, where the whole front end of the deck has been pulled up and away from the hull.
Don't remember if this is a DS1 or 2 specific problem, but it *has* occured several times, at least once at nationals if I recall ... ?
Apparently there is an L shaped bar of (whatever) metal glassed into the bow which acts as a combination bow eye/stemhead reinforcement, and on some boats, some of the 2 (original) stemhead bolts didn't actually "sink in". Somebody awhile back posted pix of one of them barely catching the edge ...
Other failures have occurred where the lower portion of the "L-bar" wasn't securely glassed in to the bow.
So, this has me puzzled: are there actually two different pieces of metal under there?
Either way, Rudy = God, and if he gave it his blessing, then I need to go back to bible school!
