Sailors' Tailor Brand Skirted Mooring Cover

Postby stevefromga » Fri Jun 17, 2005 4:10 pm

I am looking at boat covers ('85 Spindrift DS1) and have been impressed with the design of the sailors tailor’s Skirted Mooring Cover . However, for me -- the cover is pretty pricey. Has anyone had experience with this product and can provide insight into quality and expected life span?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I don't have the mooring cover, but, I do have a Sailor's Taylor bottom cover for trailering. The quality and fit are excellant. I expect this will last me longer than I will be sailing.

phill :)

go for Sailor's Taylor

I have the Sailor's Taylor skirted mooring cover. It came with my boat and must be at least ten years old. It's been subject to lots of weather and traveling. I've contacted the company and repair prices are actually very reasonable, considering the cost of replacement. I've restitched some of the failing seams myself, but the fabric itself is in for the long run.

I'd make the investment if you want good long-term protection.

I have a Sailors' Tailor boom tent cover for my DS1 (not skirted) and it is excellent.
