Boom Awning.....

Postby oldnellie » Fri Nov 18, 2005 12:07 pm

:D Does anyone have the measurements for a 'boom awning' for the Daysailer? I figure that it would be a good winter project and I can get the Sunbrella fabric from West Marine....also are the attachment points the aft cleats and shrould deck hardware or completely separate?

thanx

Boom Awning

By boom awning , do you mean a boom tent cover ? I have a cover for my DS1 from which I could take the measurements . I believe you have a DS III which may be slightly wider than my boat.

:D I guess technically it could be called a 'cockpit sun shade' although I have seen it called a cockpit awning. The tent sounds like a total enclosure for the cockpit area which sounds like another option. It would be for a DS III.
.......by the way I work at Wachusett Ski Area during the winter so I go through Worcester frequently.
