Hi. I would appreciate some helpful advice. I have an older 15ft Coronado that I would like to repair and get running for my son this fall. We need to replace all the wood parts from the rudder to the centerboard and mast support. I'm trying to find out what kind of wood I need and where I can purchase some. Thank you in advance for any help you can lend me. Jim.

Hi Jim- The best wood would be marine grade plywood but its expensive. I just built a rudder for my daysailer and used exterior plywood (17 bucks for half a sheet) and epoxyied it. Of course you have to figure in the epoxy which is expensive, I had some from a previous project. So far it has held up well.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I found a place via the internet near the Florida Keys at Marathon that sells marine teak and mahogany. Do you know if this wood would be good to use. The place is called buckwoodcraft.com. I look at my old wood parts and they don't seem to be made of plywood. Thanks for your help. Jim.
