R&R of the center board on a DS2

Postby adam aunins » Wed Aug 08, 2007 10:32 pm

My CB is stuck up!

I think it's the down hall cable that's doing it. So I need to pull the board out and set things strait. While I'm at it I plan to do the bolt and washers/seals, and cable sleeves. So my question "is this job easyer with the boat on it's side or up on blocks." I'm thinking on it's side, that way I'll not have to climb in and out of the boat. If you've done this work let me know how you did it and how you'd do it the next time if you had to.

stuck CB

I unstuck the board by taking my boat off of the trailer. then getting under it and sliding a thin piece of flat steal that I had up on the side of the board. I think that there was a piece of gravel picked up on the road or something like that jamming up the board that and my down hall line was in bad shape.

I'll let you know how things go when I tackle the R&R this winter.
