gelcote repairs

Postby vtrunner » Thu Aug 09, 2007 9:00 pm

Has anyone tried o repair the inevitable dings in the hull gelcoat of a DSII? Mine has marina rash on the rubrail as well as assorted dings inside the cockpit. I am looking for a repair that looks OK, not perfect.

Thanks

if your boat is white you can use marine- tex epoxy to fill in any dings and chips. You can also look at https://www.minicraft.com/retail/oday.htm
If they don't have your color they can help match it.
this link will tell you more on how to than I could http://www.sunfishclass.org/tips/gelcoat.htm

You can also go to http://www.youtube.com/ and search gelcoat repair. There's many videos on it. I've only watched two so far but they were both good.
