about the spreaders...c'mon, doesn't anyone know about these

I posted a question about the supposed increased efficiancy of the cape cod tapered spreaders over the round ones from DR. Someone must have experience of these....pls respond.

I had free swinging round spreaders and replaced with the Cape Cod Shipbuilding fixed angle spreaders. I race my DS I and the free swinging ones made the mast bend very hard to control. I bought the fixed ones and set my spreaders up according to the spreader settings on the online North Sails tuning guide. The sails look much better and the mast bend under control. I can now tune the mast with some prebend. Hope this helps.
