Corroded Jib Hanks

Postby hriehl1 » Wed Jul 09, 2008 2:18 pm

I have seriously corroded brass jib hanks that I'd like to clean up, but I'm worried that most anything I might do or use to cut the corrosion will stain the jib.

Any ideas? Thanks

Sorry to bump an old post, but does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem?? Is it possible to purchase just the hanks for the jib??

thanks....

Don't know about not staining the sails, but I'd remove them, get after them with a dremel or a wire brush, and soak them with wd-40

You can buy new brass ones, or plastic ones, From Duckworks Supply.
