Centerboard uphaul / downhaul improvement

I came up with an idea for keeping the up and downhauls from getting wedged between the CB and CB trunk.

I got a few nylon spacers at the hardware store. They are hollow tubes about 3/4 inches long, 3/8" diameter with a 1/4" hole through. I threaded the downhaul line through about 4 of these, and held them in place with nylon tie wraps on both ends of the spacer and a healthy dose of marine sealant/adheasive (about 2 inches apart). The rigid tubes are way too thick to get wedged and small enough for clearance in the space between the top of the CB and CB trunk.

I replaced my up and downhauls with 1/4 inch line while restoring my DSII and the downhaul kept getting caught...not any more.

I hope this helps someone.
