hull repair

Postby bitpyrate » Tue Jun 29, 2010 1:15 pm

I need to replace the plug on my Daysailer 3

iv included a picture showing both the original and the new on i bought form DR marine.

The outer diameter of the orignoal is 7/8"
however hte new one is 15/16"

Do i have to bore out the hole a little bit? I would prefer to by a better fitting one if anyone knows where i can get on. otherwise anyone have recommendations on how to enlarge the hole?

hull repair

Had the same problem on my DS II. I had lost the "screw in" plug that goes into the flange on the hull. I ended up cutting the threads out of the inside of the flange (so it was smooth) and using a cork stopper instead of the screw in plug. I keep a spare cork in my toolbox but I have never lost the cork while on the water.
