Bailer?

Postby Guest » Sat Apr 21, 2001 8:00 pm

Hello folks,
I've been working on my daysailer and I found that there is a hole in the hull about halfway between the centerboard and the transom. I'm wondering if this is the position where a bailer should be mounted. Please give any advice/info that you can. Thanks in advance!

I've usually seen them forward of the centerboard trunk usually on the starboard side to stay out of the way of the spinnaker. When you take on water it usually collects up front.

Old Day Sailers had a small threaded bronze plug, approximately 3/8" dia. that would fit into a hole in the hull at the location you describe (in the hull, on centerline, aft of the centerboard truck). If you have an old DS I, this is probably what it is.

I have a DS2

Recently I change the bayler

I adquired the glass bailer type ball in internet site in section list of parts for daysailer
The cost is about US$ 50 . I received the bailer in 3 days
The ubication is in the center boat next to transam
After of received the bailer can see the bailer is the same used for the sunfish boat.
excuse for translation
