Mast/deck sealant

Postby AlaskaDS » Mon May 26, 2014 8:24 pm

What materials are recommended to seal the deck for the tabernacle? The current and cracked sealant appears to be a a lot of silicone.

I don't use anything. I don't seal the area. You mean where the mast stub goes through the cuddy? Do most people seal this?

Not sealed on my boat - I don't store with mast up. Not worth the bother for the few times I get caught out in the rain....

Since I have a hinged mast with a mast stub, I have a sealent around the stub. I think I used a silicon sealent.
