Jib cam cleat spring- help

Postby Snoop » Sun Aug 24, 2014 8:15 am

Hi all,

I'm in search of some help in fixing my cam cleat spring. The springs on both jib cam cleats have become disengaged. I'm wondering if anyone out there has the knowledge of how to re-engage the springs, OR has info on where I can find replacements.

Thank you!

You didn't mention which brand cam cleat you are having trouble with. The Harken 150 is probably the most popular cam cleat in the market. The springs are easily replaced, but you probably want to rebuild them while you are at it. Rebuild kits are a little less than 1/2 the cost of a new cam cleat ($15 each) and it only takes a few minutes to rebuild. If you like more tension on the cam, you can install a second spring on each cam.
