When I replaced my halyards I switched to line for the full length on my 1976 DS II. No regrets doing that. Modern line doesn't stretch as much as when these boats were first built and you don't need the half line/half wire halyard.
I agree with Shagbark in replacing the bolts with stainless steel. D&R Marine sells the correct sheaves.
