I careened my boat today on my lawn (after getting my leg pinned between a rolling tractor and the transom

) and had a look at the centerboard. It took some doing to pull out, and I heard a crack. But after that it was able to go up and down easily. I noticed the up haul strap on the top of the center board was twisted, but after peering in, I couldn't see any damage, cracks or what was holding it. I did see rub marks on the sides and could feel rough spots on the inside of the trunk, so maybe there was crud in there? Paint or something? Maybe the pivot pin was cockeyed? Otherwise, the trunk was very clean, and so was the CB.
Anyway, I hope it's really fixed. I put in down and up several times while the boat was on it's side and marked the wire where the board was just where I wanted it. Next sailing trip, I'll just have to see if I take on water in the bilge. Thoughts?
