Need Replacement Mast for DS I

Postby Guest » Mon Jul 29, 2002 7:53 am

Hi, I am the proud new owner of an 86 Rebel DaySailer I. Unfortunately, the mast has been broken in two. I am very new to the sailing world, and am unsure how to begin looking for a replacement mast (not necessarily new!). Do you have any suggestions for me? I'd greatly appreciate any help you can offer! Thank you.

Where is your mast broken? If it’s broken at the top of the cutty it can be welded. Take it to a good welding shop that does aluminum welding. I’ve sailed for years with a welded racing mast.

If it’s broken any where else I would replace it. Check the web site of DWYER SPARS find them on this Day Sailer Class home page. Dwyer Aluminum Mast Company.

Go to “How to Measure Masts and Spreaders” to match up your section.

Good Luck,
