Spent the day cutting holes in my DS1 to get at the seat and bow foams. I ended up using a little grinding tool from my Dremel which made the cutting easy. I need to expand the hole a bit to fit the frame for the inspection port, but that's tomorrow's project.
Wow that foam needed replacing. It was easily 70-100lbs of saturated foam bricks. This explains much of my difficulty with the DS1 up to now. It's just so much easier to move around, lift up, anything you'd want to do. I definitely should have started with this task, then done everything else.
I'll order the pool noodles before sailing season starts. Pretty close to painting time! I can't quite fathom doing any more sanding or what good it would do.
