Traveler Question

Postby wrmann » Mon Apr 24, 2006 2:55 pm

I'm rigging my DS I with a fixed triangle travel on the stern deck. Is the center block on the traveler knotted to the line or is it free to move? I couldn't tell from the several pictures on the web site. Thanks in advance.

My boat was previously rigged w/out a traveller, with the theory that the vang would keep the boom in line. This of course serves only to twist off the top of the sail, leaving the mainsheet to to pull the end of the boom down, killing flow.

So I'm going to try the stern traveller. Have all the harware, but I'd also appreciate some discussion of Bill's question: how is the stern triangle "knotted" and cleated?

The tuning guide pictures of Phill Root's system are not adequate in this respect. More specific pics are needed.

Much better photos. I like the idea, and may change my current setup to this one.
