Spinnaker sheet Cleats

Postby matias » Fri Jul 06, 2012 9:28 am

Hello Everyone. I am new to this forum, and from Brazil. Recently bought a DSII and rigging it for a spinnaker. I have almost everything ready to fly it except for the sheet cleats. Where is be the best place to fix them? The ones I bought are rotating cleats. Thanks! Will post some pictures of my boat anytime soon.

Welcome to the forum! There are some write-ups on spinnaker rigging. Here are a few links:
HOWTO RIG A DAYSAILER FOR SPINNAKER LAUNCHING
By Mark Schroeder Fleet 89
(From the Day Sailer,Winter 2001)
http://forum.daysailer.org/pdf/qtr_spinrig_winter2001.pdf

I started with used spinnaker (free), made my own pole from 1" ID bamboo with one wrap of glass, and have so far rigged only the minimal number of blocks, thinking it worthwhile to gain some experience first before committing to hardware. Your post comes as a timely reminder to review my own rigging and perhaps get around to completing it.
Here's another write-up:
Day Sailer Rigging Guide

Note: this guide depicts rigging for a Day Sailer I, though there should be many similarities with other Day Sailers

Hope these give you a start.

Thanks a lot! The links were very helpful. I'll have my boat ready to set the spinnaker this weekend. Flying it singlehanded is gonna be a whole different story!
