All he needed to do was unscrew machine screws from stem head base plate, replace fitting and screw back in. My confidence is restored.
Planning to install mast step shim I made from scrap of 3/4 PVC house trim. This stuff is nice. Easy to work, waterproof, rot-proof termite-proof and UV proof. Finally hope to get back on the water when winds get light.
