Try alpine skiing! Stainless steel hardware is pretty easy to find at the Jersey shore. Actually, even the plywood is galvanized! Another windy afternoon forecast. I wish I had the endurance to have this much fun.

Finally contacted PO. Stem head actually broke when he drove into power line. It's the tab in picture. Base plate and deck hull joint intact. Tabernacle took a beating:



All he needed to do was unscrew machine screws from stem head base plate, replace fitting and screw back in. My confidence is restored.

Planning to install mast step shim I made from scrap of 3/4 PVC house trim. This stuff is nice. Easy to work, waterproof, rot-proof termite-proof and UV proof. Finally hope to get back on the water when winds get light.

Finally got out to sail again. 3/4" mast step lift solved lee helm problem!
