Bahia & Vago Mast Head Float - Daysailer II Mast - Fit?

Postby seabisquit » Tue Jun 17, 2014 4:20 pm

I know it's bad form for a Daysailer to have a mast head float - but as a rookie I'd like the option to either have it on or off, especially when my kids get ready to take it out

I've seen the big 'ol Hobie bulb and have no problems with that, but has anyone seen if this brand will fit, almost looks like you just tie it on before you rig up, it's a bit sleeker but not any less obvious than the Hobie

again, I think I've convinced myself of having the option to install a float depending on weather and mood :) -

This would be for a Daysailer II

Thanks!
I bring nothing to the table.

This is better option, since you install it when hoisting the main.

Better asthetic option I suppose, but one i'd have to make (or make my wife make :) The plans are a bit high level and the picture vague, I'd like more detail and pictures I guess to make sure I get on the right track. Thanks for the reply and suggestion, it is very helpful - regards

I added foam inside my mast in the upper two feet. I also have a small water bottle strapped on up there, even tho it probably doesn't do much. At any rate, the last time I capsized (2012) the mast head went under in the initial capsize, but came back to the surface due to the floatation.
