tabernacle installation

Postby Guest » Tue May 22, 2001 2:42 pm

I purchased a tabernacle assembly from Dwyer Mast Company for my 1976 DS11. I follwed the directions to a "T" and even triple checked before I made any cuts.

This past weekend I attempted to take the boat out and was stopped at the waters edge because my stays are now to short. I was unable to secure the stays to the chain plates.

I believe I found the problem which was in the directions given by the manufactuerer. They have you remove three quarters of an inch of mast, but you are installing an inch and one half of new material in the form of the tabernacle.

I faxed Dwyer my comments, but have not received an answer back. I believe I need to cut another three quarters of an inch off the bottom portion of my mast to bring it back to the original lenght.

Has anyone else experienced this problem???
