Spinnaker Mast Eye Height

Postby MookaCB » Thu Jun 23, 2016 1:30 pm

I finally ran my spinnaker last night and everything worked out well.

Currently I only have one mast eye about 2 feet above the deck. I know you can put a second eye up to 4' above the deck, but is there a consensus about the proper height for the second eye?

The eye at 2' was far too low and had my spinnaker rubbing on my forestay.

Thanks!

I hope to be in your position by the end of the summer, I have been giving this some thought and I plan on making a clamp on mount for the pole mount so I can experiment with different heights till I find a happy spot, I am sure there are variables between boats lines and rigging points that you can get pretty close but I only want to drill one set of holes in my mast, T.J.
