used sails needed
Posted: Wed Jan 18, 2006 10:54 amMy name is Roy Crocker. I am currently a member of Fleet 15 in Orleans, MA and am an active in racing with that fleet. I recently moved to the Beaufort, SC area and joined the Beaufort Yacht and Sailing Club. This club has an active year round racing program - but does not have a DS fleet. The club does own three Day Sailers that have just been sitting and need to put back in to sailing condition. We are in the process of working on these boats to make them sailable. The plan is to use them for racing and as training boats for the junior sailing program. We are aso planning to apply for "fleet statue' with the DSA. Hopefully, this will attract more Day Sailers into the fleet.
One problem is that we do not have useable sails. We are looking for used sails in any condition. Our preference would bo to have them donated (we do have a tax exempt number for the junior sailing program). If necessary we most likely could buy the sails.
