Intensity Sails - Lettering - Only in Blue

Postby seabisquit » Fri Jul 11, 2014 11:41 am

I just ordered a new sail, seems they only letter in Blue? I needed Red or Black (I have an orange and red boat) - hopefully they can make the thing WITHOUT blue lettering that I will remove anyway - anyone ever order a sail from there and change the letter color, or do you just sail around with blue sail letters on red, orange, green, black, yellow, or purple boats?
I bring nothing to the table.

The sail numbers I got from them were black. The DS logo was blue. I would have prefered my numbers were blue, but the black looks good too. I don't think the logo being blue would detract from the color of your boat.

If you need to change the blue DS logo to black, my sailmaker said that magic makers work well. He told me that when I was trying to get a Mariner logo on an old sail repaired.

I spoke with Jim Myers at Intensity - he states the sails only come in Blue but I could order some Red or Black logo from Dean or Jim at Displaylasercutting.com, then peel off the blue and add the black or red over the residue or clean off adhesive with soap and water

So, displaylasercutting.com will need to know what the dimensions are from Intensity, because they may be way off from my original O'Day sails?

Do I hate to have to go through all this trouble? yes
Do I want blue letters on our red and orange boat? NO!

Sigh, nothing is ever easy, unless you pay enough

adios!

The logo should be a standard size.

You might want to see how the sail looks on the boat before ordering out the new lettering.

Vendor doesn't know the size?, I assume they are ordered from China Sail Factory or similar over sea Manufacturer and therefore the vendor doesn't know.

As for seeing the sail on the boat before we make decision on, I appreciate that advice, I think it's a given my girls want same as they have now on their sail and we will go with red- no worries, we'll do it ourselves after we get the sail.

I'll measure the letters on original and send to laser cutter

You gotta pay to play!

Adios
