FOLDING SAILS

I RECENTLY PURCHASED A DSII. WHEN I BOUGHT HER THE MAINSAIL WAS BUNCHED UP AROUND THE BOOM AND STORED ON THE FLOOR. I SOON DISCOVERED THAT THE BATTENS ARE SOWN PERMANENTLY INTO THE MAINSAIL. SO, WHEN I TOOK THE SAIL OFF THE BOOM AND TRIED TO FOLD IT (Z FOLDS) I SOON DISCOVERED IT WAS NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE TO GET IT INTO A NEAT CONFIGURATION FOR STORING.

WHAT DO ALL Y'ALL DO?

THANKS

Hello Chris, and welcome to the forum. Is there any way you could write your posts without using ALL CAPS?

To answer your question, the best way to store sails is to roll them, so that the battens are parallel to the roll.

Sure, didn't mean to SHOUT :D .

Thanks for the advice about caring for the sails.

I discovered that the DS on each side of the sail had come off. Are there replacements and where might I obtain them.

Thanks agin.

I would think any sailmaker that produces sails in country would have ones they could sell you.

Here's a list of sources for sails: https://www.daysailer.org/Sail-Sources

Also, I will move your thread to the "Sails" section of the site, it's not specific to the DSII because all versions of the DS use the same sails.
