Mainsail Main sail DIY Sail cover
Posted: Sun Sep 13, 2020 8:47 amI just uploaded an album of pictures of my DIY mainsail cover. It worked well. I laid it out on some blocks for scale. It's made of heavy tarp, sewn on a home sewing machine and grommetted with home grommet maker using 3/8" grommets. Put the grommet hole cutter in a drill to save yourself a lot of effort.
I had previously installed a topping lift and added some stabilizing lines. I also use some ball ties to hold things together and small carabiner at the forward end around the mast. The rest is just laced on. This held up quite well on a mooring during some nasty weather.
