1966 O'Day Day Sailor I, Santa Cruz CA, $3500

Postby pnichols » Fri Feb 16, 2024 2:12 pm

This O'Day Day Sailor was completely Restored/upgraded in 2010. It is complete with floorboards, O'Day placards, cuddy shelves, covers to the bow compartment and adjustable mast height worm gear. It is unusual to find an older Day Sailor this complete and in very good condition. It has also been raced at one time as it has tweakers for the jib sheets and a spinnaker setup.

• White hull w/gray boot stripe, turquoise deck
• Bottom completely refinished with two part Interlux
• Tabernacled mast
• Standing rigging upgraded to 1/8"
• All new running rigging
• New Harken 4:1 Mainsheet System
• New Intensity main
• Sails include jib, spinnaker and older main(s)
• Spinnaker and whisker poles
• Philippine mahogany floor boards fully rebuilt with brass screws
• New rub rail
• Extra center board
• Completely restored/rebuilt and powdered coated trailer (new bunks, tongue, winch cable, swivel mount trailer jack/wheel, bearings, tires)
• Custom boat cover for storage, towing and mooring from The Sailors Tailor

That's a fine and well-appointed boat you are offering.

The "adjustable mast height worm gear" is usually called a "mast jack" and the "tweakers" are commonly called "Barber inhauls". I'm mentioning this for the benefit of those who might be familiar with the terminology from reading other posts here in the forum.

Hi - nice looking original boat - what is the sail number? There are a few "potential" Day Sailors in the Central Coast area (Morro Bay) that may be interested. If you want, PM me with an ad or something I can pass around and I will.
