My centerboard has always been extremely difficult to raise and lower. Does anyone have any suggestions for a "quick fix?"

Can you be more specific with your centerboard troubles? For example, is there a lot of tension to raise or lower the board? Does it stick in a raised or lowered position? Or does it not fully retract or extend?

My centerboard has just recently been stuck. We flipped it over and found that a cable was stuck on top of the centerboard. We took a long screwdriver and forced it off the centerboard. Our center board works fine know. i hope this helps.
