DS II/ DS I centerboard differences

Postby sailsedc » Sat Feb 25, 2006 11:44 am

Somebody I know is looking to replace as DS II centerboard and have the opportunity to buy a DS I board. Besides the attachment for raising and lowering are they the same? I have only sailed DS I so I don't have any idea.
Thanks.

the overall shape is the same but the DS I board has a square hole for the handle and the DS II has a round hole with a delrin gasket that fits inside to go around the pivot bolt. You would also have to add fittings for the control lines. The location of the hole may not match up as well but you should be able to make it work.
