Mast boot

Postby jmy9366 » Sun May 07, 2006 2:16 pm

Hello all, been lurking for some time, finally signed up. I have a 1977 DSII in wonderful condition that I bought 2 years ago. I'll be storing it in a lot at a sailboat marina on a nearby lake this year, and wondering if there's a small mast boot made, or some type of material that can be cut to length and used? Thanks for any suggestions.

If you mean the rubber gasket that fits between the mast support post and the cuddy roof to create a waterproof seal, I made one from a plumbers rubber joint coupler. You can see it here.

Thank you Roger, that's exactly what I meant. I made up my mind this past week that I was going to have to improvise. All the prefab products available seem to be for much larger boats.
