What is a fail price for a 1982 Daysailer?
The boat is in good condition as are the sails
and trailer.

Thank you,

Ken

I bought a '79 in very good condition this past summer for $1600. The shop I bought it from has another on the lot, a bit older but with an outboard motor for $1800. He had another, pretty beat DSII, but completely race rigged with spinnaker and a Procter tapered mast for $2400.

Hope this helps,
John

I saw a nice DS2 for around $1500 when I was shopping for my boat a year ago. It was late 70's, I think.

I bought my '84 Spindrift DS1 w/ trailer for $1300. Also in nice shape except for a damaged (waterlogged) centerboard that I had to replace. Recreationally rigged, w/ no racing stuff. The sailboat market here in Dallas is not so good for sellers. This guy had paid $1800 for his boat about 6 years ago.

This summer I purchased a 73 DSII for $1500. It had trailer, 2hp motor, three sets of sails (original, 2nd set, and one 3-4 years old), spinnaker, spare tire. It is in very good shape.

John, I too have a 1979 Day Sailer II, I paid $1400 in 1996. She came with a trailer, 8# anchor, winter cover, and a 100# mushroom mooring. I sail out of Wareham, Ma.
One final question for John, what color is your boat? In 1979 they came in orange or yellow, and I don't think I've ever seen an orange one (except in sales brochure) mine is yellow as was the only other 1979 DS II that I remember seeing.
