Buying a daysailor II

I am thinking of buy a 1973 oday daysailor II the boat looks to be in fair condition. Asking price is 850.00 with a trailer is this a fair price, the hull color is orange would this be a factory color, Thanks for any info on buying a used boat.

That sounds like a very good price if the boat is in sailable condition. I had to pay $300 just for my trailer which came from a late 60's DS1.
If you plan to race seriously some day, you probably want to look at DS1's although DS2's can do fine in local-level club racing. Also, the DS2 can be s self-rescued which is real nice in case you ever get capsized...

This seems to be a very good price, assuming that all the parts are there and the hull is sound. Whether the hull is a factory color, I can't tell without looking at it, but O'Day did make the hull in several colors.
