considering a new trailer as the springs (brackets) on mine are rusted out and the whole thing is crawing with rust as well...any suggestions from Florida daysailer owners as to where to get one (or spec's if one is needed to be built)?

I also have a sunfish and on some of those sites they have spoken of a boat trailer offered by harbor freight. If you look at harbor frieght's web site you will see the trailers they have to offer. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/D ... umber=5002
or you might get one of there other trailers and mod. it into a boat trailer.

trailer

I have the Harbor freight utility trailer.
It holds 1200 lbs and has the larger tires.

It could probably be converted to carry a 16 ft oday.
The problem with the one in the link you provided was it is for a 14 ft max.
plus it only holds 600 lbs .

The trailers come in big boxes and it took me 2 days to put together.
Then I've had bolts break.
I took the trailer to Fla. From NJ and a bolt that holds the springs to the frame snapped . I was lucky to see the problem before I started my trip back to NJ.
They are also made from CHEAP steel and mine started to rust the same month I bought it, This is its second year and I've sandblasted it and primed and painted it already.

If you want a used trailer try craigs list and select a city near you. They always have trailers listed.
