Proper centerboard placement when designing from scratch

Hi everybody - I'm new here. I'm designing a pretty unusual catamaran specifically for the very shallow coastal waters where I live. My question is this: How does one determine the ideal fore-aft placement of the centerboard to produce the most balanced handling and minimize weather helm? Any and all thoughts will be much appreciated!
