If the question was meant for me, yeah, I was. I stuffed bits of foam similar to pool noodle foam (specifically, pipe insulation foam from the local big box home improvement center) in through the cuddy side (on the left in the drawing).
It worked well enough that I've placed it in my mental toolkit of improvised solutions for possible future use.
If you're asking whether I did one of the permanent repairs, nope, not yet. Tim Webb came up with an elegant solution. I'll look around tomorrow and see if I can track it down.
