Centerboard rigging

Postby AlaskaDS » Sat Jul 11, 2020 6:38 pm

Are there any diagrams or images of the rigging for DSII cb rigging? Mine does not have a block on the cuddy header. Thanks

Confused. You seem to show a diagram that gives a workable setup for rigging the CB on a DSII. Are you just missing that overhead block? Can you retrofit one?

Or is your question about how the lines run inside the CB trunk?

Hi GL,

This boat seems to have never had the overhead block, no current interest in adding it, want to get on the water asap. This must be one of the variations of the DSII... so if any one has a similar boat an image or diagram would be appreciated.

The only diagrams I've seen are in older posts in this "DSII only" section of the forum. And then there's Roger's book (but I don't have a copy because I don't own a DSII).

Is there any indication how the downhaul was/is supposed to be rigged in your boat?

I've sailed on a DS II for a few days, and don't recall that overhead purchase, but can't remember how the downhaul was rigged. I have one not very clear photo that boat's cuddy with the doors open and there's clearly no vertical purchase visible, but nothing that shows the forward end of the CB. (I checked, the owner posted a picture only of the uphaul)

I take it you don't have the setup like it's diagrammed here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4944&p=26393

Alaska,

Take a look at this thread. Lots of good info here.

https://forum.daysailer.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4378

I recently did some CB rigging repair on my '74 DSII and in my research I found at least 3 variants of how the CB could have been rigged on the DSII - some that rely on a block in the cuddy and some without. Let me know if I can help with any specific questions.
