centerboard rope

how much rope movement should there be when raising and lowering the centerboard. i went out saturday and the rope only moved six to eight inches. am i getting the board all the way down? thanks.

When the board is all the way down, the block for the lifting line will be resting against the forward end of the CB trunk. If there is still wire visable on the upline, then the board is not all the way down. The line that pulls the board down will probably move less than 12" up out of the top of the CB trunk. What year is your DS II? as that may also help me answer your question
